SYNOPSIS

Ever since the Hellenic Homer wrote The Odyssey, tales of travel and adventure have been an important component of western literature. By the late nineteen fifties two works of art captured the imagination of readers and viewers of television. The first was Jack Kerouac's popular beat novel On the Road (1957). Then, ten years later, in the late sixties, Jim Bronson played on television a forlorn newspaperman disillusioned after the suicide of his best friend and "working for the man."

In order to renew his soul he becomes a nomadic vagabond searching for the meaning of life and experience what life has to offer. In the process he shares his apparent noble values with the people he meets and lends a helping hand when he can. Our hero rides a Harley Sportster, and, as such, was viewed by many fans as a modern version of the solitary cowboy meandering the American west.

What an amazing collection!

Then Came Bronson

Then Came Bronson is an adventure/drama television series which we were able to watch on NBC for about a year, from 1969 to 1970. This MGM Television production, created by Denne Bart Petitclerc, started with a movie pilot aired on March 24, 1969, which was later released in Europe as a feature film.

Though it was rather short-lived, the series has a lot of fans who have already acquired the Then Came Bronson DVD or the Then came Bronson Bluray so as to be able to watch it again whenever they feel like tasting a bit of the atmosphere of the series.

The protagonist of the series was Michael Parks who played Jim Bronson, a newspaperman whose friend commits suicide and, as a result, he becomes very depressed. To add to it all, he also has a row with his editor.

Bronson feels the need to renew his souls so he becomes a vagabond in search for the meaning of life. He is prepared to experience whatever life has in store for him (as the plot shows). Throughout his adventures and travels, he meets a lot of people to share his values with; whenever he can, he offers a helping hand to those in need.

Bronson rides a very powerful motorcycle ñ Harley-Davidson ñ so he looks like the modern lonely rider, a solitary cowboy wandering along and across the American West Coast. What is exciting about each episode of the series is the fact that Bronson finds himself entering someoneís life at a crucial moment. With each occasion he can prove himself a catalyst for change. In one episode, in the middle of the Amish community, Bronsonís bike is stolen by a boy who needs to run off to Reno. Another episode presents him as the Good Samaritan giving money to his cousin who is on the verge of getting married; however, she blows the money in a casino.

No matter the plot of each episode, Bronson remains unchanged; he is always committed to pacifism and the evil of the world does not touch him. If you want to see some really spectacular views get the Blu-Ray of the series and watch the show to the end.
